Shriners Children's
On May 12, 1922, thousands gathered to witness the placing of the cornerstone of the first Shriners Children's hospital, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The first patient – a little girl with clubfoot – was seen on Sept. 16, 1922, in a remodeled home adjacent to the Masonic temple while construction of the permanent hospital was underway.
What began as a single hospital is now a world-renowned and beloved healthcare system with hospitals, outpatient clinics, ambulatory care centers and outreach locations across the globe. Devoted to providing high-quality specialty medical care to the children and families, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status.

Having Fun and Helping Children
Since 1921, the Anah Shriners have worked tirelessly to help children all over the country and are dedicated to helping lead fundraising for the Shriners' philanthropy - Shriners Children's. The Nobles and Ladies of Anah Shriners raise funds all year long for this effort while also maintaining a commitment to fun and fellowship. There are many annual events that also support the local communities in Anah Shrine's reach, extending that fun beyond the "Anah Family" by way of parade attendance by clubs/units, events we host like the Circus, Feztival of Trees, Basket Feztivals, Trunk or Treats and many others.
